green smoothie WIAW

Breakfast: My usual, a smoothie. I think this one had coconut water, frozen broccoli, frozen strawberries, wheat grass powder, hemp hearts and chyawanprash.

Estimated calories: 250

salt of the earth brownie

Snack #1Salt of the Earth brownie with Kona coffee… yum! I meant to save this for an afternoon treat but I knew I had it and just couldn’t wait. It was super soft and decadent.

Estimated calories: 275

Starbucks skinny chai latte

Snack #2: Starbucks venti skinny chai latte. I’m not a huge fan of Starbucks, and I almost never go, but I wanted a warm place to take a lunch break and read for an hour, and since it’s still cold out in NYC, this was the best place.

Estimated calories: 250 (isn’t it kind of scary how many calories are in this “skinny” tea beverage?)

miso lemon kale chickpea soup

Lunch: Homemade miso lemon soup with kale, chickpeas and pasta. This was a rather small serving but it was tasty and satisfying (I know it looks murky, but trust me, it was good! I adapted this recipe).

Estimated calories: 250

healthy snacks

Snack #3: A Raw Revolution Vegan bar (that I picked up for free at the NYC Vegetarian Festival) and nuun, which is like Gatorade without all the dyes and sugar.

Calories: 100

popcorn WIAW

Dinner: After work, I accidentally skipped dinner because I was hungry and unprepared, and instead had popcorn and TV time with Kiyo.

Estimated calories: 350 (yes, we had a lot of it! with butter)

Ceres Guava

Dinner: Kiyo and I split a glass of yummy, sweet Ceres guava juice. Turns out I was accidentally vegetarian this day! See, it’s not too hard to have a “Meatless Monday” or any other day. Have you ever tried it?
